Narelle's beautiful Love Entwined truly is an incredible work that has to be seen to be believed. The amount of detail and level of workmanship is inspiring. I have been fortunate to see this quilt up close and I was completely in awe of Narelle's hard work and dedication. Here's what Narelle has to say about making this extraordinary quilt:

 

"I undertook LE as I was looking for a challenge and I just love English antique and reproduction quilts.

My favourite part of the process was learning and refining my applique technique and skill.

I found the final applique borders the most challenging due to the repetitive nature of the applique.

My fabric choices were inspired by the details provided by Averil Colby in her Patchwork book.  eg she mentioned black and brown were used in the original quilt.  I also wanted my quilt to reflect antique quilts of the era.

I did not select a range of fabric but drew from my stash with several purchases of fabric for broderie perse.

LE applique took me 13 months to complete and the quilting took another two months."
